Supply Issues Unisurge International Ltd Medical Hollowware Framework Launch (ICN 2827)

• The supply issues with Medical Hollowware products are continuing.
• Five further product codes are now delisted from our online catalogue and no longer available to order:
  • FBF85034, FSL2202, FSL2212, FSL2229 and FSL85046.
• 10 product codes remain on Protect Demand Management and are available while stocks last before being delisted from our online catalogue:
  • FSL2040, FSL723, FSW516, FTD090, FTP000, FTP096, MRA144, MRA145, FBF85172 and FSW517.
• These products are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Two product codes are now available while our remaining stocks last, once the remaining stock has depleted then the products will be delisted from our online catalogue:
  • FSL2041 and FTA157.
• 10 products are now affected in total.
• The stock of interim alternatives from Unisurge have been secured to support continuity of supply until the replacements are available. These are the products affected on this ICN and are available whilst stocks last.
• This was communicated during the webinar 11 March 2025.
• The indirect alternatives listed on the product listing are the new replacement products and we have included dates that we expect these to become available.
• The availability dates will be closely monitored and the ICN updated when these products are made live.

• Update on new stocked products from 7 April 2025:
  • One product code may not be available at go live due to shipping delays:
    • FBF85168 – Single Use Virgin Plastic Medicine Pot 60ml (MedScience).
  • We are expecting the stock within the first week of Go Live, however this is currently unconfirmed.
  • Please continue to order existing product FTP096 in the meantime.
• We will continue to review the situation to minimise further disruption.
• We will update this ICN as soon as we have further information.

• We have added a further tab to the product listing for the impacted alternatives.
• On the previous update there was an error, the below alternative product code was listed as FSL1188 when it is FSL118:
  • Single Use Plastic Bowl 2500ml:
    • FSL118 (Polyco Healthline) Bowl general purpose 3 litre capacity pulp will be available to order as an interim alternative. FSL118 (Polyco Healthline) will result in a 55p per unit cost saving
• We will continue to review the situation to minimise further disruption and will update this ICN as soon as we have further information.

• As a result of the recent tender renewal, the products supplied by Unisurge International Ltd on the Medical Hollowware framework will be delisted from 7 April 2025.
• Following the customer webinar held 11 February 2025 and the commencement of the customer launch 24 February 2025, some of the alternative products identified will not be available from 7 April 2025 due to manufacturing delays.
• 11 alternative product codes will be unavailable from 7 April 2025:
  • FBF85155, FBF85160, FBF85176, FBF85156, FBF85159, FBF85177, FBF85173, FBF85175, FBF85174, FBF85161 and FBF85167.
• 11 affected product codes remain subject to Protect Demand Management (PDM):
  • FTP000, FTP096, MRA144, FSL723, MRA145, FTD090, FSW516, FSL2041, FTA157, FSW517, FSL2040 and FBF85172.
• One affected product previously subject to PDM is now suspended and unavailable to order until 7 April 2025:
  • FSW516.
• 12 product codes remain affected in total.
• Update on new stocked products from 7 April 2025:
  • Single Use Plastic Medicine Pot 30ml:
    • FBF85155 (Praxis) Single Use Virgin Plastic Medicine Pot 30ml will not be available at go live due to manufacturing delays
    • The existing product FTP000 (Unisurge) will remain available whilst stocks last and we expect FBF85155 (Praxis) to be available mid-April.
    • Single Use Plastic Wash Bowl 6000ml:
    • FBF85160 (GenX) Single Use Virgin Plastic Wash Bowl 6000ml will not be available at go live due to manufacturing delays
    • The existing product FSL2040 (Unisurge) will remain available whilst stocks last. FBF85160 (GenX) availability to be confirmed once stock has shipped.
  • Update on new eDirect products from 7 April 2025:
    • Single Use Plastic Gallipot 60ml:
      • FBF85176 (MedScience) Single Use Virgin Plastic Gallipot 60ml will not be available at go live due to manufacturing delays
      • EVX049 (Rocialle) Gallipot sterile 60ml polypropylene single wrap will be available to order as an interim alternative. EVX049 (Rocialle) will result in a 3p per unit cost pressure. We expect stock of FBF85176 (MedScience) to be available early-May.
    • Disposable Polypropylene Bowl 500ml:
      • FBF85156 (GenX) Single Use Virgin Plastic Gallipot 500ml will not be available at go live due to manufacturing delays
      • EVX033 (Rocialle) Bowl polypropylene sterile 500ml single wrap will be available to order as an interim alternative. EVX033 (Rocialle) will result in a 1p per unit cost pressure. FBF85156 (GenX) availability to be confirmed once stock has shipped
      • FBF85156 (GenX) Single Use Virgin Plastic Gallipot 500ml no longer able to support as an alternative for FSL723 (Unisurge) Disposable Polypropylene Bowl 250ml. Stock of FSL723 (Unisurge) will remain available whilst stocks last.
    • Single Use Plastic Medicine Pot 30ml:
      • FBF85159 (GenX) and FBF85167 (MedScience) Single Use Plastic Medicine Pot 30ml will be unavailable at go live due to manufacturing delays
      • The existing product FTP000 (Unisurge) will remain available whilst stocks last and FBF85139 (Continuum Scotland) Single Use Plastic Medicine Pot 30ml is available to order from go live.
    • Single Use Plastic Bowl 1000ml:
      • FBF85173 (GenX) and FBF85177 (MedScience) Single Use Plastic Bowl 1000ml will be unavailable at go live due to manufacturing delays
      • EHC3593 (Unisurge) Polypropylene Bowl 1000ml Sterile will be available to order as an interim alternative. EHC3593 (Unisurge) will result in a 14p per unit cost pressure
      • FSL85003 (Moulded Fibre Products) Bowl general purpose 1 litre capacity pulp will be available to order as an interim alternative. FSL85003 (Moulded Fibre Products) will result in a cost saving of 49p per unit
      • We expect stock of FBF85177 (MedScience) to be available early-May
      • FBF85173 (GenX) availability to be confirmed once stock has shipped.
    • Single Use Plastic Bowl 2500ml:
      • FBF85175 (MedScience) and FBF85174 (GenX) Single Use Plastic Bowl 2500ml will be unavailable at go live due to manufacturing delays
      • EVD194 (Rocialle) sterile double wrapped 2 litre bowl will be available to order as an interim alternative. EVD194 (Rocialle) will result in a cost pressure of 91p per unit
      • FSL1188 (Polyco Healthline) Bowl general purpose 3 litre capacity pulp will be available to order as an interim alternative. FSL1188 (Polyco Healthline) will result in a 55p per unit cost saving
      • We expect stock of FBF85175 (MedScience) to be available early-May
      • FBF85174 (GenX) availability to be confirmed once stock has shipped.
    • Single Use Virgin Plastic Jug 1L:
      • FBF85161 (MedScience) Single Use Plastic Jug 1L will be unavailable at go live due to manufacturing delays
      • EVX284, soon to be replaced by EVS87875 (Rocialle) jug graduated polypropylene sterile 1 litre will be available to order as an interim alternative EVX284, soon to be replaced by EVS87875 (Rocialle) will result in a 20p per unit cost pressure
      • We expect stock of FBF85161 (MedScience) to be available early-May.
• We will continue to review the situation to minimise further disruption and will update this ICN as soon as we have further information.

Change:

• As a result of the recent tender renewal, the products supplied by Unisurge International Ltd on the Medical Hollowware framework will be delisted from 7 April 2025.
• There are 12 products affected:
  • FTP000, FTP096, MRA144, FSL723, MRA145, FTD090, FSW516, FSL2041, FTA157, FSW517, FSL2040 and FBF85172.
• A customer webinar was held Tuesday 11 February 2025 to inform customers of the changes and highlight the mitigations that will be in place to limit any impact.

Impact:          

• 12 products have been placed onto Protect Demand Management from 11 February 2025, to maintain continuity of supply during the transition to alternative products.  Thresholds have been set to allow ordering at normal customer levels.
• Products will still be available; however, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS:
