In this pivotal role, you will contribute directly to our strategic ambitions by delivering high‑quality economic and product insights that shape key organisational decisions.

We are looking for a skilled Data Engineer to join our growing Data & Analytics function. In this role, you will design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines and platforms that enable high‑quality analytics, reporting, and data‑driven decision making across the organisation. You will work closely with analysts, data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to ensure data is accurate, accessible, and delivered efficiently.

We are seeking a Business Analyst who will:

  • Develop, maintain, and optimise ETL/ELT pipelines and data workflows.
  • Build and manage data models, data warehouses, and data lake environments.
  • Ensure data is clean, structured, and governed in line with organisational standards.
  • Monitor performance, reliability, and quality of data pipelines and systems.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to understand data needs and deliver scalable solutions.
  • Support the implementation of new data platforms, tools, and technologies.
  • Contribute to the development of data standards, best practices, and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot issues, investigate data anomalies, and resolve root causes.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • Experience with data engineering in a cloud or hybrid environment
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with relational and non‑relational databases.
  • Proficiency with data transformation tools and frameworks (e.g., Python, Spark, Data Factory, SSIS).
  • Understanding of data modelling, data integration, and data quality concepts.
  • Experience working with version control and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Git, DevOps).
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.

Desirable extras

  • Experience with streaming technologies
  • Knowledge of BI / analytics tools such as Power BI or Cognos
  • Familiarity with product‑based or agile delivery environments.
  • Exposure to data governance, metadata management, or MDM practices.

What can we offer you?

We want to reward you for your passion, enthusiasm, and hard work so we offer much more than a competitive salary:

  • Hybrid working opportunities, giving you the flexibility to work collaboratively in the office and remotely.
  • We recognise our employees’ hard work and contributions with annual bonus schemes, long service, and colleague recognition awards.
  • 27 days holiday plus bank holidays, with the option to purchase an additional 5 days.
  • We are dedicated to your development, through in-house training, support, and access to external qualifications to maximise your potential.
  • A focus on your well-being offering 1 day of paid well-being leave and free access to the 24/7 Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Generous pension scheme (with us contributing 12% when you contribute 6%).
  • Access to our Flexible Benefits Scheme, where you can choose from a variety of benefits such as Life Insurance, Critical Illness Cover, Income Protection, Health Cash Plan, Dental Insurance, and additional pension contributions that suit you.
  • 2 days of paid volunteering leave allowing you to give back to your community.
  • Access to many discounts from the Blue Light Card to NHS Discounts.
