NHS Supply Chain are recruiting a Business Analyst to help deliver a series of high-profile transformation initiatives within SCCL and NHS Supply Chain.

 

You will be responsible for business analysis and requirements engineering activities across a selection of projects or programmes. Working at pace, and across a range of technology and projects, you’ll quickly grow your expertise.

 

You will be able to understand our customer and internal business needs and be able to creatively shape, define and refine business solutions to meet those needs. In guiding and advising our customer and internal business to help them develop and refine requirements, you must be able to quickly establish your credibility with stakeholders at all levels. You’ll bring a strategic mindset, a creative and analytical approach, and exceptional communication skills – both in person and in writing. You’ll demonstrate a strong user focus and the ability to use a wide range of business modelling techniques.

 

 

What does a Business Analyst do at NHS Supply Chain?

 

Working with stakeholders and business users to define root causes of business problems and help shape the business objectives and scope for change.

Working with stakeholders and business users to elicit, analyse, develop, refine, communicate and document their requirements for change.

Working with User Experience and Information Architects in the definition of Customer Journeys and the production of wireframes and prototypes.

Representing the customer (acting as a proxy) in support of the delivery teams throughout the project.

Specifying and validating that the functional and non-functional requirements are appropriately implemented within the solution.

Assuring the business value and quality deliverables of all analysis assets including their management and traceability.

Representing the technical team in communication with the customer about the project delivery.

Providing analysis services to the architects, designers, developers and UAT testers in the definition and validation of technical solutions.

Assisting with the estimation of timescales, resources and planning to successfully deliver a project.

Be a contributor to the creation of best practices through the identification of reusable project assets.

Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of the latest IT trends, best practices, and digital technologies.

Coaching and developing our people, particularly our more junior BAs and graduate community

  

 

What skills, qualifications and qualities do I need to be successful?

 

Analytical Skills: 

Business analysis for business transformation including definition of business problems, business objectives and scope, As-Is and To-Be.

Development of cost and benefits analysis and options analysis for business cases.

Develop business requirements using best practice. Requirements engineering including data, processes, rules, reporting and their acceptance criteria and business systems requirements including functional and non-functional and their acceptance criteria.

Apply best practices and align to industry standards for Business Analysis and Requirements Engineering and Management at all time.

 

Essential:

 

Bachelor’s DegreeBCS ISEB Business Analysis certification, IIBA CBAP or equivalentCompetent in the use of industry-strength best practice in business analysis tools and techniques including BPMN, UML, Entity Relationship Modelling, Business Rules Modelling, Requirements Management Matrix, Product Backlog for all deliverables.

 

Desirable:

 

Iterative development, DSDM or Scrum, Prince2, MSP, Data science and data analytics, Business Architecture Guild BABoK.

This role is hybrid working; a blend of home and office working 2/3 days in the office and 2/3 days at home.
