Location: Hybrid working from any of our NHS Supply Chain Office Locations

Salary: £64,062 per annum

Contract Type: Fixed Term (12 months)

Working Pattern: Full time

About the Role

NHS Supply Chain is looking for a motivated and forward-thinking Healthcare Professional to join us as a Clinical Fellow to support one of our key Clinical and Quality of Care strategy ambitions — helping NHS Supply Chain better understand our role in population health management by developing our understanding of Health Economics data.

Working closely with our Head of Clinical Professional Standards, Hospital and Out of Hospital NHS Trust (Customer) engagement teams and stakeholders across the Integrated Care Systems (ICS) landscape, you’ll play a pivotal role in translating data-driven insights into meaningful clinical context. This is an exciting opportunity to influence national priorities by aligning procurement decisions and product usage information with population health needs across England and reducing unwarranted variation which can lead to health inequalities.

Key Responsibilities

•         Support the interpretation of health population data to inform clinical and supply chain decision-making across the organisation.

•         Collaborate with both Hospital and Out of Hospital NHS Trust (Customer) engagement teams to gather insights from trusts, ICS systems, and healthcare professionals.

•         Translate data into meaningful clinical narratives that align with NHS priorities and patient outcomes.

•         Contribute to the development of evidence-based strategies where health care products, devices and equipment can lead to health inequalities improving access and inclusivity to the right products and services.

•         Engage with internal and external stakeholders to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement.

•         Provide clinical insight into the planning and implementation of procurement initiatives aligned with population health needs.

NHS Supply Chain, who are we?

Our role is to support the NHS to save lives and improve health. We are a part of the NHS family, and our role is to source, deliver and supply healthcare products, services and food for NHS trusts and healthcare organisations across England and Wales.

We serve every NHS Trust and operate a national network of distribution centres, managing relationships with more than a thousand suppliers and delivering more than 8,000,000 orders each year to more than 17,000 locations. Doing all of this on behalf of the NHS gives NHS staff more time to focus on their main priority of providing excellent patient care.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

•         A clinically registered professional (e.g., doctor, nurse, AHP, or public health specialist) with recent NHS experience.

•         A solid understanding of population health principles, health inequalities, and system-level data trends.

•         Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and explain complex datasets in clinical and practical terms.

•         Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

•         Experience working across systems or in integrated care settings is desirable.
