    NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Commercial Business Partner within our Commercial Team to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.

    We are seeking a strategic and experienced Commercial Business Partner who will be supporting the Diagnostics category to oversee the reconciliation of circa £25m of Additional income (AI) annually.  They will support robust governance and approval processes requiring continuous process improvement. Serving as the subject matter expert and primary contact for the OEC and CPQ systems used within Diagnostics for end-to-end ordering, including the creation of AI reconciliation and customer savings.  This responsibility also extends into other areas of Commercial where direct URNs are issued.

    Delivering contract management process improvements e.g. access agreement standardisation and automation, direct sales capture, management fee invoicing, and financial reconciliation automation. Supporting the development and ongoing monitoring of supplier KPI toolkits aligned to the requirements of the Procurement Act (2023).  

    Every day you will …

    • Be accountable for all performance related matters within the respective Categories.
    • Drive the creation, implementation, monitoring (and remediation as required) of OSGM and KPIs metrics within Commercial. 
    • Intervene and improve organisational and team delivery through robust performance improvement planning and implementation. 
    • Drive individual contractual / framework performance to ensure the commitments made in category and sourcing strategies are achieved (and exceeded where possible). 
    • Utilise SMART operational metrics and performance reporting including assurance around governance and compliance processes.
    • Lead benchmarking of all commercial activities against equivalent organisations to identify areas of improvement and better ways of doing things. 
    • Manage a team of three whilst acting as business partner to develop output that fully supports category growth and improvement across our key financial and operational metrics

    What skills will help you thrive in this role?

    • A minimum of five years’ experience working as a Commercial Business Partner.
    • Contract management knowledge, including access agreements, management fee invoicing, direct sales capture, and framework/contract performance management.
    • Strong understanding of commercial governance, including assurance, compliance, and audit requirements.
    • The ability to analyse and interpret commercial metrics, performance data, and cost–benefit outcomes.
    • Experience in automation and digital process improvement, reducing manual workload and minimising errors.
    • Ability to oversee and drive category-level performance, ensuring KPIs and OSGM metrics are achieved or exceeded.
    • Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and inform senior stakeholders.
    • Previous experience of managing a team, setting objectives and performance management.
