NHS Supply Chain are recruiting for a Head of Domain to lead the implementation, ongoing optimisation and operation of our strategic ERP platform that will act as the backbone of end-to-end modernisation of our logistics network and replacement of our legacy IT estate with a modern, evergreen solution. This complex, multi-year programme will simplify and transform all aspects of the business, serving as a key enabler for delivering the company’s vision of £ 1 billion of savings back into frontline NHS Services.
To support this, the Data and Technology directorate is in the final stages of transitioning to a Service Integration And Management (SIAM) model, OneIT, led by an internal team with multiple Service Providers delivering an end-to-end suite of services across Service Integration and Helpdesk, Modern Workplace services, Infrastructure and Networks, Application Development, Support and Management and Cyber Security.
In combination with this, Ways of Working are transforming away from a traditional delivery method to an agile, product approach and mindset.
These three elements provide NHS Supply Chain with the technology, approach and structure that are the strategic foundations for NHS Supply Chain modernisation.
Reporting to the Director of Products and Platforms, and working closely with business stakeholders, this role is accountable for leading and directing our strategic ERP delivery Service Provider through the successful transformation programme and creating ongoing business value by driving the ERP product roadmap forward.
Effective delivery of the new ERP platform will require seamless coordination across the other Data and Technology domains and broader organisation to plan and execute a seamless transition from legacy systems and ways of working with zero business impact.
You will own the technical relationship with application vendors and have accountability for service performance in line with business needs and embedding of business, engineering and security policies, standards and controls into the platform, ensuring a secure, available and performing service.
You will also play a key role as a member of the IT Leadership Team, setting the wider technology strategy and roadmap for the business.
Every day you will…
- Maintains and develops the strategy, technical product roadmap for the applications, products and platforms within the Domain and is responsible for minimising and removing technical debt.
- Partners with business teams in scoping and designing new solutions and services.
- Leads the Domain team, including cross-functional and third-party resourcing, Domain backlog creation, work prioritisation and change management.
- Owns Technical and Change Management relationships and is the interface with technology vendors and IT Service Providers, covering day-to-day service performance and change leadership.
- Ensures compliance with NHS Supply Chain Change, and Data and Technology processes, including adoption and operational readiness.
- Ensures compliance with NHS Supply Chain security and data policies.
- Develops and leads test strategy for products and platforms in the Domain, in conjunction with technical partners.
