NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Instructional Designer to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.

The Instructional Designer plays a vital role in enabling organisational capability and employee development through the design of inclusive, engaging, and effective learning experiences including face-to-face, virtual and e-learning.
This role ensures learning solutions are aligned with strategic priorities, grounded in adult learning principles, and accessible across digital, virtual, and in-person formats.

- Apply adult learning theory and instructional design principles to create high quality, impactful learning experiences, creating creative and engaging learning content that colleagues are keen to use and promote to others
- Utilise authoring tools and platforms to develop digital, virtual, and in-person content, including blended learning solutions, continuously learning to innovate.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and business partners to ensure learning content is relevant and aligned with specific content, organisational values, behaviours, and goals.
- Manage timelines, resources, and deliverables across multiple learning projects.
- Implement tools and processes to assess learning effectiveness and drive continuous improvement using clear data sources.
- Champion inclusive development, making sure development programmes and initiatives are accessible, equitable and empowering for all.
- Keep an eye on the horizon, track trends in work, culture and capability development so we remain fit for the future.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
- Instructional Design Expertise: Strong knowledge of adult learning theory and instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) to create effective learning experiences.
- Proficiency in using authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Adobe Captivate) and learning platforms to build digital and blended learning content.
- Ability to manage multiple learning projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and quality outcomes.
- Experience working with subject matter experts and business partners to cocreate relevant and impactful learning solutions.
- Skill in using data, feedback, and learning analytics to assess effectiveness and continuously improve learning content.
