Graduate Cyber Security Analyst

As a Graduate Cyber Security Analyst you will play a key part within the Data and Technology Directorate. The Graduate Cyber Analyst will work alongside the NHS Supply Chain Cyber Security Team and Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure systems are monitored and configured securely, and security events and incidents are escalated and mitigated as per response plans.  The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of cyber operations at NHS Supply Chain, ensuring we remain protected from cyber threats throughout.

What does a Graduate do at NHS Supply Chain?

 You will experience different areas of the business as a Graduate including placements in key areas of the business.  You will be allocated a mentor for the duration of your programme and the opportunity to gain 2 -way feedback on your programme over the 2-year period.

With the support from others in the team, as a Graduate, you will work with the NHS Cyber Security Team and our Managed Service Provider to you will ensure that the confidentiality, availability and integrity of NHS Supply Chain’s information and systems is protected. You will also support security projects needed to improve NHS Supply Chain’s cyber security posture, and protect us against cyber threats.

  

What skills will help you thrive in this role?  

  •  Education: Minimum 2.2 degree achieved within the last 3-5 years.
  •  A cyber security degree, or degree in a relevant field, is desirable. 
  • Technical Skills: Experience working with security tools, such as Microsoft Defender.
  • Analytical Abilities: Strong analytical skills to identify patterns within data and derive meaningful insights.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent writing, presentation, and interpersonal skills to clearly explain complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Organisational Skills: Ability to manage tasks and projects efficiently with attention to detail to ensure accuracy and reliability of data.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Ability to work well with people, develop strong working relationships, and a love for learning and meeting new people.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring accuracy in all aspects of work.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.
  • Desire to work in or to support the NHS with the drive and ambition to develop a career in the field of Cyber Security.
