NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a People Experience Specialist to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.
The People Experience Specialist plays a key role in delivering seamless and supportive employee experience through frontline service and query resolution. Acting as a trusted expert, this role ensures People operations are delivered with accuracy, empathy, and efficiency, aligned with our values and service standards.
You will be the first point of contact for colleague queries, supporting a wide range of people-related topics and helping shape service improvements through insights and feedback.
Every day you will …
You will sit within the People Experience Delivery team and work closely with People Experience Leads, and wider team, and other support functions. You are the first point of contact for colleagues, handling a wide range of queries and ensuring a positive and consistent experience. Your role helps shape the perception of the People Team and contributes to a culture of trust, support, and continuous improvement.
- Investigate, and propose solutions for, complex people relations cases in liaison with line managers; coordinate the organisation’s response to legal cases brought by individuals; contribute to the preparation of legal submissions and ensure all parties complete casework accurately and within deadlines.
- Deliver excellent People Experience services across the colleague lifecycle, including onboarding, changes, absence and exits. Act as Subject Matter Expert for one or more core areas, coach and guide managers to navigate people policies, systems and processes effectively. Support the delivery of People Experience initiatives, such as onboarding refreshes, recognition programmes or engagement surveys.
- Deliver stakeholder engagement activities to support development of effective working relationships and to identify and respond to stakeholder needs and concerns.
- Resolve queries from internal or external customers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to issues to others where necessary for interpretation of policy, escalating where necessary
- Contribute to reviewing existing operations in their own area of work and generate new ideas to assist in identifying continuous improvements.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
- Good understanding of people lifecycle process, employment law and data compliance. Experience working with people operations.
- Deliver the process for the regular and timely review of policies, procedures, and related guidelines to ensure compliance with external requirements. Skilled in People systems management and data accuracy.
- Works with full competence to ensure that the relationship between the organisation and its staff is managed appropriately within a clear and understandable framework underpinned by the organisation’s values, principles and policies and compliant with employment law and other legal requirements.
- Develops and delivers multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences, ensuring this is always people-first focused.
- Knows the most effective and efficient processes to get things done, with a focus on continuous improvement.
- Builds partnerships and works collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives.
- Working calmly with ambiguity and shifting priorities, holds self and others accountable to meet commitments.
- Bringing forward best practice and ensure efficiency features in our task.
