What does a PMO Specialist do at NHS Supply Chain?
The NHS Supply Chain business has an ongoing ambitious transformation portfolio which is driven in large part, by the modernisation of much of the IT technology estate and implementation of new capabilities in the logistics network.
Management, steering and coordination of all key transformation activities is structured under a set of programmes and projects which, combined, form a single change plan across all aspects of NHS Supply Chain.
We have an exciting opportunity to appoint a Project Management Specialist. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on enjoys driving clarity and alignment across strategic initiatives. As a PMO Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in supporting portfolio, programme and project governance, reporting, and analysis. You’ll work closely with project and programme teams to ensure that key themes, risks, and priorities are identified, understood, and communicated effectively across the organisation.
You will have the opportunity to work with all our different business areas and deliver change which really drives value for our end customers across the NHS. You will also have an opportunity to bring ideas and experience forward to help drive continuous improvement in the way that we deliver change.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?
Essential:
Support portfolio and programme–level planning, tracking, and reporting to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
Able to support identifying and connecting key themes, dependencies, and priorities across programmes and projects.
Able to support insightful analysis to inform decision-making and highlight areas of opportunity or concern.
Experience with PMO tools, templates, and dashboards to improve visibility and control.
Facilitate governance forums, preparing high-quality reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.
Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure consistent application of PMO standards and practices.
Desirable:
Strong experience with building and maintaining programme and project plans, able to provide guidance and best practice to project delivery teams.
Experience and knowledge of healthcare sector either public or private
Good understanding of Logistics, Supply Chain and eRetailer organisations
