Location: Hybrid – with 1-3 days a week in any of our offices (Nottingham, Alfreton, Sheffield, Wakefield, Daresbury or London)
Contract type: Permanent
Salary: £65,920 with the potential to rise to £77,553 over 3 years

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Portfolio governance and reporting lead to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.
The Portfolio Governance and Reporting Lead sits at the heart of our Change Team. Your primary purpose is to ensure that our multimillion-pound portfolio of projects is governed with rigor and reported with absolute clarity. You will be the guardian of the “single source of truth,” bridging the gap between complex project data and executive decision-making. By establishing robust frameworks and reporting processes, you ensure that every pound invested in our supply chain directly supports frontline clinicians and improves patient outcomes. You will be responsible for the governance frameworks and performance reporting of a high-value portfolio of programmes & projects.

- Embed portfolio governance frameworks to ensure consistent, compliant, and value-driven delivery across all programmes and projects.
- Provide high quality portfolio intelligence, analytics and reporting, that enables evidence-based decisions being made.
- Engaging with internal and external stakeholders to ensure portfolio governance is accurately deployed. Implementing recommendations and change where applicable.
- Own the deployment and optimisation of portfolio management reporting tools and dashboards to enable enhanced executive oversight and Board-level insight.
- Define, monitor and track KPI data relating to portfolio performance to maintain standards and expectations.

- Ability to develop and deliver clear, outcome-focused plans by aligning priorities with organisational goals, managing risks, and adapting to changing business needs while maintaining a long-term strategic view.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships, influence at all levels, manage expectations, and communicate complex information clearly to drive alignment and informed decision-making.
- Proven expertise in PMO or portfolio leadership, establishing effective governance frameworks, standardising processes, and ensuring robust reporting, oversight, and accountability across programmes and projects.
- Demonstrates a values-led approach, consistently acting with integrity, transparency, and accountability, while promoting an inclusive and collaborative culture aligned to organisational principles.
- Good understanding of PPM methodologies and tools, including MoP, MSP, PRINCE2, and Agile/Hybrid approaches, with the ability to tailor frameworks and tooling to suit different delivery environments and improve overall performance.
