NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Principal Commercial Analyst to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first and to deliver against our strategic objectives.

We are seeking an experienced Principal Commercial Analyst who will have responsibility for the Additional Income team – supporting the commercial and rebate analysts to deliver their job requirements, including financial planning and monthly accounting. They will be the first point of escalation within the team for any stakeholder or external supplier queries and deputises for the Additional Income Manager when required.

Every day you will …

  • Conduct research using primary data sources, and select information needed for the analysis of key themes and trends.
  • Provide financial modelling input into forecasting and analysis to support growth in the business, and decision making.
  • Prepare and coordinate the completion of various data and analytics reports.
  • Resolve queries from internal or external customers or suppliers by providing information on complex processes and the related policies, referring to others where necessary.
  • Provide reports on rebates, month end reporting and accounts reconciliations.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • Strong skills in analysing complex datasets to identify trends, patterns and insights.
  • Previous experience of preparing and coordinating data and analytics reports including month-end reporting such as journals and account reconciliation.
  • Part qualified or working towards accountancy exams currently.
  • An analytical mindset with advanced Excel skills.
  • Previous experience of working in a Management Accountant role.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and previous experience of working with suppliers, and business partnering.
