Salary: Offered based on a starting salary of £64,062 per annum with the opportunity for this to increase based on performance to £75,367 over three years, and a £7,000 car allowance

NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.

The Value Stream Lead – Record to Report plays a pivotal role in NHS Supply Chain’s major transformation programme, leading the design and implementation of new, best-practice business processes from the ground up focusing from a financial perspective.

This is not a role focused on incremental change—it requires bold thinking and the creation of out-of-the-box solutions that redefine how the organisation operates. The successful candidate will take full ownership of both the current (‘as-is’) and future (‘to-be’) process landscapes, acting as a gatekeeper to ensure alignment across teams and stakeholders.

This autonomous position offers the opportunity to contribute to a large-scale, multi-year transformation, with long-term responsibility for process performance and continuous improvement. It provides high visibility across the organisation and valuable experience in Enterprise Resource Planning transformation, stakeholder engagement, and process leadership.

Reporting to the Head of Process Design and Integration, the Value Stream Lead will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, programme teams, internal cross-functional departments, and external stakeholders, including customers and suppliers to deliver on the requirements of the programme. 

Every day you will … 

  • Champion and define future ways of working through process ownership and leadership across the financial space at Supply Chain
  • Understand and document current processes (process mapping) in the finance team
  • Lead on the creation of future processes and translate them into system requirements (translating finance requirements into business-friendly language)
  • Support the implementation and testing of changes to ‘business as usual’ to help ensure a successful go-live process
  • Responsible for establishing metrics and monitoring long-term process performance

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

  • Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) within the Record to Report process area with a strong understanding of end-to-end processes (eg journal entries, accruals, reconciliation and close activities; month-end, quarter-end and year end)
  • Thorough knowledge of Financial Accounting Standards (IFRS/UK CAAP) and how they apply operationally
  • Skilled in balance sheet integrity, including ownership of key accounts and ensuring timely reconciliation
  • Ability to interpret financial statements and understand underlying drivers
  • Proven experience in process performance and continuous improvement, hands-on experience collaborating with cross functional teams and proven experience engaging with stakeholders (customers and suppliers) at different levels
  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning transformation and process leadership
  • Expertise in technical delivery and leadership within large-scale supply chain, B2B Wholesale, E-Retail or similar environments
