Confirmed industrial action affecting GXO
Unite has formally notified our logistics service provider GXO, that its members have voted in favour of industrial action in relation to a pay dispute.
The union recently held a ballot among the Unite driver members employed by GXO on the NHS Supply Chain contract, who are covered by the Transport Collective Agreement.
Unite has now notified GXO that they intend to take industrial action, starting with a two-day strike from 4pm on Tuesday 13 October to 8pm on Thursday 15 October.
GXO is committed to constructive discussions with Unite representatives and ACAS in order to seek a resolution.
Maintaining continuity of supply to the NHS remains our priority. As such, we are in the process of finalising mitigation plans and by the beginning of next week, we will have a trust-level plan identifying the delivery routes impacted and the corresponding mitigation measures.
Impacted trusts will be contacted by phone by our customer services team, who will work through the plan, including ordering and delivery options for each affected trust.
Should trusts have any questions in the meantime, please contact NHS Supply Chain’s customer services team.
Partners do not need to take any action until contacted by NHS Supply Chain teams, until then it is business as usual.
We will continue to monitor the situation closely and keep partners informed of any significant developments.
