Food To Go Dynamic Procurement System Framework Focus
For the month of May, NHS Supply Chain: Food’s framework focus is the Food To Go Dynamic Procurement System (DPS).
Soon to be expanding it’s product ranges into innovative new offers such as street food and ice cream we look at the DPS.

These enhanced catering options open up a new and innovative approach to the retail offer for visitors within hospitals.
Beverages, Confectionery and Snacks Framework Launch Coming Soon
NHS Supply Chain: Food’s Beverages, Confectionery and Snacks Framework is soon to be launching next month in June.
We are excited to better serve trusts’ needs with this new framework, combining Cold Beverages, Confectionery and Snacks with Hot Beverages and Vending Consumables.
Available through the NHS Supply Chain Catalogue, this provides trusts with an easy route to market in addition to new products from Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).

Mental Health Awareness Week
This month we are pleased to be supporting Mental Health Awareness Week running from Monday 12 May until Sunday 18 May 2025. In support of our people, we`re shining a light on this issue. This vital initiative focuses on addressing the unique challenges and stressors within the industry.
The week aims to raise awareness about mental health issues, reduce stigma, and encourage people to prioritise their mental wellbeing.

It’s a handy one pager that you can stick up in your kitchen or office, at a glance you can see what is in season each month.
This month we shine a light on new potatoes.


Method:
- Cut potatoes into a 2cm dice. Lightly boil in water for five minutes. Drain and leave to cool.
- Prepare and chop the parsley and set aside. Wash the spinach and drain well of excess water.
- Peel and dice the onion. Cut the chorizo in to 1cm dice.
- Sauté the onions and chorizo in a hot pan for approximately three to four minutes in the rapeseed oil.
- Add the potatoes, parsley and baked beans, stir well and cook for a further five to ten minutes.
- Bring a pan of water to the boil. Add the vinegar and soft poach the eggs.
- Wilt the spinach in a pan with the margarine.
May Seasonal Recipe – Potato, Chorizo and Bean Breakfast Hash
Recipe ingredients | Quantity |
Crushed chilli flakes | 2g |
Margarine | 25g |
Parsley | 10g |
Chorizo | 200g |
Rapeseed oil | 4ml |
White wine vinegar | 10ml |
Baked beans | 300g |
Spinach | 250g |
Eggs | 5 |
New potatoes (Jersey Royals if possible) | 325g |
Onion | 70g |
To serve:
- Place a portion of spinach on the plate or bowl.
- Add the chorizo, beans and potato.
- Top with a poached egg. Sprinkle with chilli flakes.
- Serves five.
