Minimum Order Value Threshold Changes – Making Ordering Easier

There is no minimum order value (MOV) for stocked products purchased through NHS Supply Chain. However, for eDirect lines, to balance product availability and maintain competitive pricing, some suppliers only fulfil orders that meet a specified MOV threshold.

As part of our Supplier Collaboration Programme, customers identified MOV as an area for improvement, particularly because thresholds were applied at contract level rather than the supplier level.

In response, the Programme has worked closely with our Category teams to review, reduce, or remove MOV thresholds wherever possible, making it easier for customers to access lower value eDirect products through our route.

As a result of these efforts, over the past year:

• We have completely removed MOV thresholds for 25 suppliers.
• Additionally, several other suppliers have lowered the threshold at which they will process and dispatch orders.
