Six Trusts Have Now Gone Live With Our Inventory Management System
Our Inventory Management System (IMS) and Point of Care Scanning (PoC) deployment is progressing rapidly, with six trusts now live and experiencing the benefits of improved stock visibility, cost savings, and enhanced patient safety.
The IMS programme, managed nationally by NHS Supply Chain, is designed to improve patient care, and streamline operations in NHS trusts over the next two years. By introducing advanced Inventory Management and PoC, the programme aims to deliver:
- Cash-releasing savings
- Enhanced patient safety and experience
- Increased productivity through reduced administrative tasks.
Which Trusts Have Gone Live?
The following trusts are now live with IMS, with implementations initially focused on specific hospital areas and potential for expansion:
- Dorset County Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Newcastle upon Tyne Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
- Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust
- Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust
- The Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust
- West Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust
What’s Next?
The IMS deployment journey continues, with more trusts set to go live from January 2025. We’ll update regularly on our progress and the positive changes IMS and PoC are bringing to NHS trusts nationwide.
