World Patient Safety Day 2025 – Tracey Cammish, Head of Clinical Quality Improvement and Patient Safety

11 September 2025

As we wrap up our World Patient Safety Day 2025 campaign, our Head of Clinical Quality Improvement and Patient Safety reflects on what this week means to us, and to all the patients we support.

We have showcased a variety of the work we’ve been doing this week – including disruptive innovations, our HEAT Assessment tools to ensure children of all ethnic backgrounds receive the best care, and the research into nutrition that supports good health and recovery for children in healthcare environments or hospital.

This campaign represents our mission to put patients at the heart of everything we do. Patient safety isn’t an afterthought, but a duty we all share in every aspect of our organisation.

We are proud to stand with the World Health Organisation, with the NHS, and with every parent, child and clinician – committed to safer care, for every newborn and for every child. Today, tomorrow and for the future.
