Resilience
Our increased knowledge of the global manufacturing base following COVID-19 and subsequent global supply challenges, means we are better able to identify potential risks and mitigate them by building resilience into our sourcing strategies.
How to purchase from the framework
This framework, mandated by NHS England, is the only compliant route for procuring prosthetic products to meet your requirements.
To support compliant ordering, please refer first to the Prosthetics Catalogue, which lists over 95,000 approved products available from the 12 awarded suppliers under this framework.
Our Buying Guide provides essential guidance on how to conduct transactional activity:
- High-volume product lines are available via our online catalogue
- Low-volume product lines, listed in the Prosthetics Catalogue, should be ordered directly from the supplier and spend activity must be recorded in the Exceptions Log to ensure compliance and transparency.
The Prosthetics, Components and Associated Products Buying Guide, and the Exceptions Log will be added to this page before the go live date to help you make buying decisions.
See our Downloads ▼ section for the Prosthetics Catalogue.
Sustainability and Social Value
Sustainability, net zero and social value are important elements in how NHS Supply Chain build our framework offering through the procurement process, tendering, supplier award and contract management. There are five mandatory requirements for suppliers to address supporting compliance with relevant PPNs and NHS England policy.
- Carbon Reduction Plan (PPN 006)
- Evergreen Assessment
- Modern Slavery Assessment (PPN 009)
- Social Value (PPN 002)
- NHS England Net Zero Supplier Roadmap and Horizon Scanning
Awarded suppliers meet the current milestones on the net zero roadmap and have awareness and understanding of future milestones.
Social value
See our Downloads ▼ section for further information on suppliers’ social value commitments.
Sustainable opportunities
Sustainability development opportunities and product reduction activities are closely tied to ensuring the right products are fitted for patients from the point of initial amputation. These efforts are intrinsically linked to the evolution of patient pathways and will require collaboration with NHS England to support effective delivery.
Following the framework launch, our Category Team will actively engage with NHS England and regional prosthetics teams to support the development of patient pathways. This collaboration will focus on identifying clinical best practices, understanding emerging patient needs, and ensuring that product selection supports a ‘right first time’ approach. We also want to further our understanding of how this approach supports decarbonisation and how we can identify the full range of sustainability co-benefits.
Regular touchpoints, data sharing, and stakeholder feedback will be key to driving continuous improvement and delivering meaningful outcomes across the framework.

13,741 products are being delisted.
