Early Informs
In response to customer feedback, when possible we provide ‘Early Informs’, to help ensure we are giving you information about potential supply disruption as soon as we can.
There are three status options for ‘Early Informs’ as follows:
- In Progress – when we don’t have enough information yet to publish an Important Customer Notice (ICN).
- Moved to ICN – an ‘Early Inform’ that has now progressed to a full ICN about the supply issue.
- Resolved – an issue that we informed you about on this page, but was resolved quickly so it did not require an ICN.
Customers are advised to regularly visit our ICN pages for the latest published ICN updates.

In all of these cases:
- We are working to collate all available information and assess any impact to NHS Supply Chain customers.
- Customers are reminded to order based on requirements, to support the entirety of the NHS having continuity of supply.

Product Update – GBUK / AMT Enteral Products (Enteral Feeding and Bile Bags)

- NHS Supply Chain has been advised that the existing arrangement between our suppliers GBUK and AMT (Applied Medical Technology) has now ended.
- There is no expected supply disruption yet due to this transition, however, if anything changes further communications will follow and a full ICN will be created.
- We are monitoring the situation closely and working directly with the suppliers to ensure that customers can continue to order products.
- We are acquiring additional stock of the products affected until the end of the existing framework – please note that this change only applies to a section of the total GBUK portfolio.
- Orders should continue to be placed as normal – customers who purchase directly from GBUK who want to purchase through NHS Supply Chain, please contact your ICS Manager (account manager).
- Customers who wish to continue purchasing directly should place orders before September to cover the transition period.

Supply Issues BSN Medical Limited Various Frameworks – Orthotics, Vascular Therapy, Immobilisation and Wound Care

- NHS Supply Chain has been advised by BSN Medical Limited of a temporary supply disruption on all non-stock lines for four days from 27 to 30 August 2024.
- Normal service will resume on Monday 2 September 2024.
- The temporary supply disruption is due to IT migration and novation.
