What is Jada® System?
The Jada® System is an innovative device designed to help clinicians rapidly control postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) by using gentle vacuum technology to stimulate the uterus’ natural contraction response. Available through NHS Supply Chain, it offers an alternative to traditional tamponade-based interventions for managing uterine bleeding after childbirth.
Why it matters
Postpartum haemorrhage remains one of the leading causes of maternal mortality in the UK. Rapid recognition and effective treatment are critical to improving outcomes for women experiencing excessive bleeding following birth.

How Jada® System works
Unlike interventions that apply pressure to control bleeding, the Jada® System uses low-level vacuum to encourage the uterus to contract naturally, helping to close open blood vessels and reduce blood loss. The device also enables clinicians to monitor collected blood loss, supporting timely decision-making and escalation of care when needed.
