HealthTech Connect and NHS Innovation Service

HealthTech Connect

NHS Supply Chain is the delivery partner for the HealthTech Connect system, which launched in April 2019.

HealthTech Connect is a secure online system for identifying and supporting health technologies that:

  • Offer novel benefits to patients or healthcare professionals compared to those already offered by current practice, or
  • Provide a system or resource benefit to the UK health and care system compared to those already offered by current practice.

This new system, developed by NICE and funded by NHS England, is intended for medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health innovations as they move from inception to adoption in the UK health and care system.

  • Suppliers wishing to submit product innovations for the NHS to review should do so via the HealthTech Connect website.
  • All submissions are reviewed in a timely manner, with feedback given directly to the company.

Visit the HealthTech Connect website or send an email to contactus@healthtechconnect.org.uk.

NHS Innovation Service

NHS Supply Chain is a support organisation in the new NHS Innovation Service, which has been developed to increase and accelerate the uptake of impactful innovations into the NHS and social care by providing innovators with information and coordinated support, enabling them to navigate the health and care system and deliver innovations to clinicians and patients faster.

The support we offer to innovators is currently moving from HealthTech Connect into the new NHS Innovation Service, which has been developed by the Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC) hosted by the Innovation, Research and Life Sciences (IRLS) team in NHS England.

The NHS Innovation Service builds on the fantastic work of HealthTech Connect, bringing organisations together to collaborate around the needs of innovators. When the NHS Innovation Service becomes publicly available, HealthTech Connect will close to new registrations. If you are already engaging with some support organisations via HealthTech Connect, you are advised to wait until that engagement has ended before registering on the NHS Innovation Service.

The new NHS Innovation Service is currently available through a password protected website. If you have an innovative product or service for the NHS, See our Useful Links section for the online form to register for the service.

If you have any questions about the new NHS Innovation Service, please contact your local Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) or NHS England and NHS Improvement’s Innovation Team via AAC.innovation@nhs.net.

See our Useful Links section to find the contact details for your regional AHSN.
