Save 10% off the framework price for the BK 9048 LATP biopsy probe for your existing BK Medical ultrasound system – when purchased through NHS Supply Chain.

The GE HealthCare BK Medical 9048 LATP biopsy probe (E14CL4b endocavity biplane transducer) is a high-resolution ultrasound transducer designed to support local anaesthetic transperineal prostate biopsy (LATP) procedures. It provides detailed imaging to help clinicians accurately visualise the prostate, perform volume studies, guide prostate therapies and assess both the anterior and posterior compartments of the pelvic floor. The transducer is specifically designed to deliver clear and reliable images during urology procedures, supporting confident clinical decision-making and improved patient care.

This offer is intended for existing BK Medical ultrasound users in urology departments, outpatient clinics and operating theatres who wish to increase prostate biopsy capacity. Many services experience delays when only one biopsy probe is available, limiting the number of procedures that can be scheduled. Equipment-related downtime can also result in underused clinic and theatre sessions, creating inefficiencies across the patient pathway.

The addition of a second BK 9048 probe helps improve service resilience and continuity by enabling more procedures to take place without interruption. Increased probe availability can reduce delays and cancellations, improve patient access to diagnostic services and support higher throughput within existing resources. This can contribute to shorter waiting times and more efficient use of clinical capacity.

The probe includes an expanded sector view, providing a wider field of vision to support accurate imaging and procedural guidance. An integrated smart button allows the user to activate the transducer and freeze, store or print images with a single press, helping to streamline workflow. The ergonomic design supports operator comfort during procedures, while the advanced connector is designed to reduce image noise and facilitate one-handed operation. The transducer is fully immersible for straightforward cleaning and sterilisation, and compatibility with single-use needle guides supports reliable and consistent biopsy procedures.
