The Hologic® Faxitron® CoreVision® radiography system is a compact, easy-to-use unit designed for imaging breast biopsy specimens at the point of care. It is self-contained and does not require additional X-ray shielding, making it suitable for placement directly in the mammography room. This ensures specimens can be imaged immediately without disrupting the mammography workflow. Images can be sent instantly to multiple destinations, including PACS, for review and archiving.

The system can be operated by trained healthcare professionals such as mammographers, advanced practitioners, and assistant practitioners. Clinical application support is available to assist users in optimising performance. Its ergonomic design means it fits easily on a small worksurface, with a total footprint of just 68cmx61cm and a weight of 40lb.

The Faxitron® CoreVision® system delivers high-quality images using a Complementary Metal Oxide Semiconductor (CMOS) detector, achieving up to 14 lp/mm resolution with fixed 1.4X geometric magnification. The tungsten target is specifically optimised for biopsy core imaging. A 61cm high-resolution 3.7 MP monitor is included for clear specimen viewing. Exposure settings can be manual or automatic, with Automatic Exposure Control (AEC) and auto-calibration ensuring optimal image quality.

Safety is a priority, with features such as a physical key, emergency stop, dual safety interlocks on the door, and clear indicators for X-ray activation, including an audible tone during imaging. The specimen drawer is versatile and compatible with Hologic consumable trays, allowing easy transport to pathology.
