EVIS X1 System GIF-H190N Transnasal Gastroscopes - Flexible Endoscopy

Reference: 1544
Type: DHSC Fund Promotion
Start Date: 22 December 2025
Expiry Date: Whilst stocks last.

Save from 10% on this special offer for the Olympus EVIS X1 video systems purchased with GIF-H190N gastroscopes for transnasal endoscopy when purchased through NHS Supply Chain.

Transnasal endoscopy has a number of clinically proven advantages over conventional oral gastroscopy both for patients and Health Care Organisations and in some centres has allowed standard diagnostic gastroscopy’s to be moved from the traditional endoscopy setting to other areas in the hospital such as outpatients which can free up capacity as a waiting list initiative or allowing the addition of more advanced endoscopic therapeutic procedures or increasing standard procedural numbers through the intubation of the gastroscope through the patients nose.

Customers can support the introduction of a transnasal service by taking advantage of additional savings when purchasing an Olympus EVIS X1 video system (either single workstation or double configuration) and four x GIF-H190N gastroscopes for the use in transnasal endoscopy.

Should you wish to begin your service with more than the minimum four GIF-H190N’s this offer allows the purchase of additional GIF-H190N gastroscopes on top of the original four which will accrue additional savings on a tiered system, based on quantities.

Features and Benefits

  • Conventional oral gastroscopy will pass across the back of the tongue and can cause a gag reflex which is uncomfortable for the patient and may delay the procedure. Intubating via the nose avoids the gag reflex and may make the procedure more comfortable as well as allowing the patient to talk and engage with the endoscopist making them feel more relaxed
  • Due to the slim nature of the scope – sedation may not be required.
  • With the reduction in sedation this allows for a smaller team as there is no requirement to monitor oxygen saturations.
  • Patients can drive themselves home or return to work due to the removal of sedation in many cases.
  • Transnasal endoscopy has been driven as a nurse led service freeing up clinicians for more advance therapeutic procedures in a number of hospitals.

This offer is over and above the standard discount available through the NHS Supply Chain framework agreement. The discount will be available whilst stocks last or until 30 September 2026.
