• B Braun and Unisurge have issued updated Field Safety Notices regarding Chloraprep 1ml Applicators included within their procedure packs.
• Additional Lots have been identified that are potentially at risk of a compromised sterile barrier due to open/incomplete seals.
• The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MRHA) issued an updated Class 2 Medicines Recall EL(26) A/34 regarding Becton Dickinson UK Ltd (BD) ChloraPrep 2% 1ml applicators, extending the scope to include all Lot numbers with an expiry date up to and including 05/2029.

• Kimal has advised that the extended scope does not impact any further of their procedure packs.

Rocialle Healthcare has issued an updated Field Safety Notice 2026-02 for Rocialle Healthcare Limited’s procedure packs containing 1ml.

• There is an additional deactivated trust specific product, that is now affected by the issue:

• The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) has issued a Class 2 Medicines Recall: EL(26)A/26 regarding Becton Dickinson UK Ltd (BD) ChloraPrep 2% 1ml and ChloraPrep Frepp 2% 1.5ml Applicators.

• BD ChloraPrep Medicines is recalling the affected products due to a potential breach of sterility in the packaging process.

  • DMK000 – Skin Disinfectant Medicinal Product 1ml sterile applicator 2% chlorhexidine gluconate in 70% IPA clear solution.
  • MRB303 – Skin Disinfectant Medicinal Product 1.5ml sterile applicator 2% chlorhexidine gluconate in 70% IPA clear solution.
  • MRB306 – Skin Disinfectant Medicinal Product 3ml sterile applicator 2% chlorhexidine gluconate in 70% IPA clear solution.
  • MRB494 – Skin Disinfectant Medicinal Product 3ml sterile applicator 2% chlorhexidine gluconate in 70% IPA tinted solution.
• Where potential alternatives are identified, Customers are advised to consult your own clinical experts to ensure suitability for your organisation’s use of these products.
