Change:

• The supplier PDI (EMEA) Limited has informed us of a supply issue with its skin disinfectant biocide product.
• There is one product code affected:
  • DEC85019 – Skin Disinfectant BIOCIDE 1.6ml swabstick 2% chlorhexidine in 70% alcohol 50 per pack.
• The supply issue is due to increased demand and lead times.
• Due to this ongoing supply issue this product is now being threshold managed as it is subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:

• The affected product is still available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue.
