Don’t Miss Out, Get Access and Help Influence the Design of Your New Online Catalogue

29 April 2026

Our Digital Commerce Programme has reached a major milestone, with more than 35% of trusts now with access to the New Online Catalogue.

This growth in uptake marks a significant step forward in our approach to modernising the way our NHS partners search, compare, and order products, while providing valuable real-world insight that is shaping future development.

Organisations that have engaged early are already seeing the impact of their involvement, with insights from day‑to‑day use helping to prioritise and deliver meaningful improvements.

This ongoing collaboration continues to inform the development roadmap, ensuring enhancements are driven by real user needs.

It’s great to see so many trusts accessing the New Online Catalogue, with some having already rolled it out across one or two departments, which is a really positive step.

We use a lot of feedback, data and insight to determine the design, but there is no substitute for hands-on experience in real-life situations.

The more feedback we get, the better the catalogue becomes. We’re keen to hear from as many users as possible so we can continue to develop features which save people time and support better purchasing decisions.

New features

As the catalogue continues to evolve, here are some of the key enhancements available now, along with features coming soon to further improve the experience:

  • Clearer pricing to help with purchase decisions – the new catalogue shows pricing both including and excluding VAT.
  • Bulk upload for faster tailored catalogue creation – create catalogues with up to 50,000 products in a few clicks, saving time for set up.
  • Create lists of products for each department to help with guided buying – now increased to 30 lists per user. But we’re not finished there – we’re still making optimisations, we’d love to get your thoughts on what we do next with lists.
  • View more products on a page – now increased to 36 per page. And in the next few months users will be able to select how many products they’d like to see on a page.
  • Share live and accurate information with more colleagues – in addition to the ‘copy link’ feature on the products page, you will now be able to quickly share your search results and product comparison with team members who will be able to easily view them with trust single sign on.

Coming soon:

  • Support clinical decisions by being able to filter results by sterile / non-sterile products.
  • Reduced calls to Customer Services and costs through clearer information on which products are returnable or refundable up front.
  • Quicker ways to add to your basket – if you have a list of products, upload it, or if you know the NPC, type it straight in!
  • Save time by not making repetitive searches with recently viewed products displayed on your catalogue.

And lots more to come!

Your trust can help shape future features and get to use them first.

Helen Cook, Supply Chain Manager, Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has shared how her team have been involved in shaping the new catalogue:

We’ve been working with the Digital Commerce Programme team for over a year now and the development of the New Online Catalogue has gone through leaps and bounds. The team have been very open to our feedback and have taken away all the comments we raised.

The new catalogue is now looking really good, user friendly and it’s great to see some of our feedback has been incorporated. It’s been a really good experience to be part of this process, and I genuinely feel our input has been taken on board and turned into real practical changes.

To gain access to the New Online Catalogue, get in touch with us directly, or through your ICS Manager and Implementation Specialist. Getting started is a simple process and we’re on hand to support you throughout.
