Our toolkits

Our new range of toolkits have been designed by the culinary and dietetic team along with subject matter experts to provide practical accessible training materials.

These are ideal for and designed to support NHS catering, procurement and sustainability teams, embedding best practices across their operations.

Our first toolkit is a comprehensive new Carbon Toolkit, designed to help you as NHS trusts understand, measure and reduce the environmental impact of your food and catering services.  Please watch this space as more toolkits will be added throughout the year.

Culinary academies for chefs and catering teams

Our academies are designed to enhance the skills and knowledge of NHS chefs and catering staff. The Chefs Academy focuses on inspiring and developing NHS Chefs, while the Skills Academy targets general catering assistants.

The free innovative programmes provide the chance to upskill and empower your catering staff. Covering everything from culinary skills to nutrition we give the opportunity to bring fresh momentum to your team.

The aims of our in-person training courses include supporting catering teams to be a part of clinical outcomes, understanding just how far the power of food goes, and using food as a foundation for health. From knife skills to portion control, attendees will learn about reduction of food waste and improved sustainability.

See our Useful Links section for our Events page – our next culinary academy takes place at Edgbaston Stadium in Birmingham in September.  Spaces are booking up fast so sign up now if you can – with more dates and venues added as frequently as we can provide them.

Training videos

Our training videos are designed to give you and your teams a quick overview of key topics – many of which our customers have raised to us.  Watch this space as more videos will be added to this page throughout the year.
