Advanced Wound Care
Overview
This framework starts on 1 September 2025, runs for 24 months and ends on 31 August 2027. There is an option to extend for an additional 24 months.
This combines some products from the former General Wound Care and Advanced Wound Care frameworks.
There are 56 suppliers, including 13 new suppliers, on the framework offering an extended product range, innovative products and more choice to customers. See the Suppliers section for a full list of suppliers on this framework.
Areas covered
There are 18 lots on this framework (see Product Categories section for a full list).
Resilience
Our increased knowledge of the global manufacturing base following COVID-19 and subsequent global supply challenges, means we are better able to identify potential risks and mitigate them by building resilience into our sourcing strategies.
For this framework we are adopting measures including ensuring suppliers hold more stock in UK warehouses and providing forward trackers so that suppliers can build up contingency stock in the event of a supply disruption.
How to purchase from the framework
Products available via our Stocked and eDirect supply routes can be purchased using our online catalogue or through your own purchase-to-pay system.
Important notice – for stocked products only.
Following the move to Buy Price = Sell Price, new framework prices will only come into effect when stock of all products at the old framework price has been depleted.
Ordering samples
Product samples are available from all suppliers on the framework.
Please note that the decision to supply samples, along with the unit of issue, supplied quantity, time to supply and free of charge nature of any request, is solely the decision of the relevant supplier(s).
Requests for samples should initially be discussed with your NHS Supply Chain ICS Manager. They will then work with you and the respective supplier(s) to agree requests and order on your behalf.
Savings Opportunities
Product switching is available on this framework. Analysis will take place to highlight cost effective alternatives and to identify switch and rationalisation opportunities.
The framework provides National Pricing Matrices (NPMs) which allow you to benefit from a discounted pricing structure from a supplier in return for either a value or volume commitment, for an agreed period.
The suppliers offering NPMs from go live are:
- Absorbest – Super absorbents (DryMax)
- Coloplast – Various products including Biatain, Alprep Pad and Comfeel
- Convatec – Gelling Fibres (Aquacel Extra, Ag and Ribbons)
- Hartmann – Foams (RespoSorb Silicone)
- L&R – Super absorbents (Vliwasorb Pro), Foams (Suprasorb), Wound Contact Layer (Lomatuell Pro), Debridement Pad (Debrisoft) and Debridement Pad with Handle (Debrisoft)
Other NPMs will be available post Go-Live which will allow savings opportunities for customers who are able to consolidate their purchasing.
If you are interested in product switching or NPM savings opportunities, please speak to our Hospital Care team.
See our Useful Links section for your ICS Manager contact details.
A price ranking sheet has been developed covering Alginates and Gelling Fibres (core sizes only), Silicone and Foam Dressings (core sizes only) and Silicone Wound Contact Layers (core sizes only) so you can review suppliers’ prices with ease. This will be available within three months of the go live.
The framework can support regional eAuctions, Mini Competitions/Commitment Deals in Foam Dressings, Gelling Fibres, Silicone Wound Contact Layers and Super Absorbent Dressing for further savings. If you are interested in further information, please contact:

- Evergreen Assessment
- Modern Slavery Assessment (PPN 009)
- Social Value (PPN 002)
