Important Android 13 national roll-out for eDC Android devices
As part of our commitment to cyber security requirements, starting early 2025, we will be updating all eDC and eDC Gold Android devices to the Android 13 version of the operating system.
What does this mean for you?
NHS trusts staff will not be required to install the update themselves. Our NHS Supply Chain colleagues will manually update the devices. To clarify, due to the complexity and file size of the update, this cannot be done through the usual automatic update method. We will carry this out via a phased approach to minimise potential disruption. Where there are a large number of devices or / and over multiple sites, this will be done over several dates.
This update will include a new compatible version of the eDC and eDC Gold Android application, version 3.0.0.
What happens next?
We will contact you over the coming weeks to arrange a suitable date(s).
If you have any questions about this update, please contact our eDC team:

SOTI MobiContol updates
We know that some customers are still blocking access that the devices require to our SOTI MobiControl server. This means that important Android updates, security patches and eDC and eDC Gold software updates are not being received.
This poses a security risk and means customers are not using new features or bug fixes.
Please refer to the latest Android release notes for the current software version number. If you are running any earlier version, you should contact your local IT department to request the following addresses to be added to the network on which your Android devices connect:
- URL: s107126.mobicontrolcloud.com
- IP Address: 52.51.137.234
- Ports: 5494, 443
