Patient Monitoring Equipment, Bedside Equipment Alarm Monitoring Systems, Related Products and Services
This framework starts on 8 June 2024, runs for 24 months and ends on 7 June 2026. There is an option to extend for an additional 24 months.
Overview
Patient monitoring involves observing a patient’s vital sign measurements over a period of time. This monitoring is typically done by continuously measuring specific medical parameters, including electrocardiography (ECG), respiration, invasive and non-invasive blood pressure, oxygen saturation in human blood (SpO2), and body temperature.
The process uses a device known as a medical monitor. This typically comprises one or more sensors, processing components, display devices and communication links for presenting or recording the results.
The framework provides various types of patient monitors, ranging from vital signs monitoring (often ward-based) through to theatre monitoring and specialised neurology monitoring. It also has a new category, Lot 3, for Bedside Equipment Alarm Monitoring Systems. These device-agnostic listening systems enable quicker clinical decision-making by alerting healthcare professionals to medical device alarms.
