Sustainable Procurement Summit

The theme of the conference was “Enabling sustainable procurement for our people and planet” and explored how to measure, target an improve the sustainability of your supply chain.
On 19 April 2023 Andrew New, CEO, NHS Supply Chain joined a lightning talk session which explored “Casting a wider net – harnessing diversity and inclusivity to promote sustainability across your supply chain”.
The session covered topics such as;
- Increasing spending with diverse suppliers from underrepresented groups across your value chain in order to drive innovation.
- Embedding diverse suppliers across your supply chain to draw upon differing perspectives and practices, and considering how this can enhance your competitive edge.
- Recognising the power of creating diverse supply chains to gain agility and flexibility to drive resilience.
The session was chaired by Ian Schollar, Head of CIPS Business Study Centre, CIPS and moderated by Andy Daly, Head of Corporate Partnerships, Social Enterprise UK. Lisa Cridge, Commercial Lead, Heathrow Airport also spoke alongside Andrew New.
