Field Safety Notice Essity UK Hand Towel Paper Roll MRT219 Product Recall (ICN 2331)

Alert:

• Essity has issued a voluntary product recall of Tork Matic® Extra Long Hand Towel Roll.
• Through their quality control processes, Essity has identified a small batch of stock where the plug in the core of the roll has not been fitted correctly.
• The incorrectly fitted plug will result in the hand towel not fitting in the dispenser correctly.

Products Affected:

•  The products affected have been supplied by NHS Supply Chain via the stock route:

• Please note only the batch numbers quoted in the Field Safety Notice are affected.
• NHS Supply Chain warehouses have been checked with affected stock quarantined, future deliveries will be of unaffected batch numbers.
• There is no impact on availability.

Next Steps:

• Read and follow the full instructions in the Field Safety Notice and share with all users of the affected products.
• Cease use and quarantine all affected batches.
• Contact your local NHS Supply Chain Customer Service Advisor with full details of affected products for return using reason code 7 Supplier Recall, please advise if the quantities are single rolls or packs of 6.
• All products are to be returned no later than Friday 24 November 2023.

Please be aware that in the event of a Field Safety Notice/Product Recall, we may need to provide manufacturers, UK responsible Persons and Distributers with contact details of customers who have potentially received the affected stock. This is to help them to reconcile their stock and evidence to the regulators that all actions have been taken to ensure that the unused products have been removed from customers to prevent inadvertent use of faulty and potentially unsafe products.
