Savings opportunities

National Pricing Matrices (NPMs) allow you to benefit from a discounted pricing structure from a supplier in return for either a value or volume commitment, for an agreed time period.

Opportunities to adopt NPMs will be reviewed post Go-Live which will allow savings opportunities for customers who are able to consolidate their purchasing. Please contact our Hospital Care Team to find out more.

An increase in the number of suppliers on the framework means more product switching opportunities will be available. Information for Clinical Choice (ICCs) will be produced after Go-Live to advise on the clinical suitability of alternative products which could deliver savings.

Social Value and Sustainability

Since April 2022 all our frameworks have adopted the Procurement Policy Notice 06/20. The suppliers on this framework have demonstrated their plans for:

  • Fighting climate change.

All suppliers on the framework have Carbon Reduction Plans. Examples within different plans include measures to reduce both packaging waste and the amount of air miles used to transport products.

During the life of the framework, we will also work with suppliers to explore opportunities for purchasing recyclable products or products made from more sustainable materials.

Resilience

A broader range of suppliers, including ones with UK manufacturing bases, have been added to the framework and the portfolio of products has been increased. All suppliers are also required to have UK stock holding to reduce the impact of any global supply chain issues. Together these measures will help ensure a resilient supply of products is available.

Important notice – for stocked products only.
Following the move to Buy Price = Sell Price, new framework prices will only come into effect when the stock of products at the old framework price has been depleted.
