Product Recall Vernacare Moisturising Cream Cleanser Bodywash 250ml/500ml GDW176 and GDW177 (ICN 2352)

Alert:

• Vernacare has issued a voluntary recall with immediate effect for all in-date batches of Clinisan Bodywash.
• The reason for the recall is that microbial contamination was detected in certain product batches.
• This contamination can be a safety risk and therefore all batches are being voluntarily recalled as a precautionary measure.

Products Affected:

• Both affected products are available by NHS Supply Chain via our Blue Diamond route:

• GDW176 and GDW177 are currently suspended and unavailable to order until further communication from the supplier.
• Indirect alternatives for GDW176 are currently being set up and will shortly be reflected in our catalogue.
• GDW177 has available indirect alternatives, please view our catalogue for details.

Next Steps:

• Read and follow the full instructions in the Field Safety Notice and share with all users of the affected products.
• Cease use and quarantine all affected batches.
• Contact your local NHS supply Chain Customer Service Advisor with full details of affected products including if the quantity is in cases of 12 or singles. Your Customer Service advisor will confirm details and provide you with a unique CMS reference.
• On receipt of written confirmation of disposal, in accordance with your local regulations, quoting your unique reference number, credit for the full value of product destroyed will be raised.
• Where potential alternatives are identified, Customers are advised to consult your own clinical experts to ensure suitability for your organisation’s use of these products.
• Complete the Customer Reply Form on page 3 and 4 of the Field Safety Notice and return to safety@vernacare.com.

Please be aware that in the event of a Field Safety Notice/Product Recall we may need to provide manufacturers, UK responsible Persons and Distributers with contact details of customers who have potentially received the affected stock. This is to help them to reconcile their stock and evidence to the regulators that all actions have been taken to ensure that the unused products have been removed from customers to prevent inadvertent use of faulty and potentially unsafe products.
