Supply Issues ICU UK Medical Ltd Needlefree Connection Systems FSB2566, FSB2567, FSB2568 and FSB2569 (ICN 2534)

Change:

• The supplier ICU UK Medical Ltd has informed us of a supply issue with its Needlefree Connection Systems.
• There are four product codes affected in total:
  • FSB2566 – Needlefree extension set
  • FSB2567 – Needlefree extension set
  • FSB2568 – Needlefree connector / valve
  • FSB2569 – Needlefree extension set.
• The supply issue is due to supplier manufacturing issues.
• Due to this ongoing supply issue these products are now being threshold managed as they are subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:          

• All product codes are available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue.
• However, some of these products may also be subject to intermittent supply.
• These products are anticipated to be removed from Protect Demand Management by 10 June 2024.
