Supply Issues KCI Medical Limited Non-Woven Fabric Surgical Drapes (ICN 2538)

Change:

• The supplier KCI Medical Limited (Formerly 3M) has informed us of a supply issue with its Non-Woven Fabric Surgical Drape products.
• There are 23 product codes affected.
• The supply issue is due to reduced manufacturing capabilities.
• As a result of the changing requirements surrounding medical devices law and regulation, we have been advised that this supplier is withdrawing from the UK market for the products covered in this ICN.

Impact:

• Six affected product codes are currently suspended and unavailable to order:
  • VJD135, VJD154, VJD156, VJD158, VJD163 and VJD302.
• 16 affected product codes are currently subject to intermittent supply:
  • VJD123, VJD151, VJD155, VJD160, VJD161, VJD162, VJD166, VJD167, VJD168, VJD169, VJD171, VJD300, VJD3293, VJD930, VJJ004 and VJJ010.
• One product code is available while stocks last:
  • VJD142.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue.
• Please note one indirect alternative is currently suspended and unavailable to order:
  • VJD2274.

• The supply issue is anticipated to be resolved by 30 August 2024.
• The supplier is doing a final stock replenishment in June, after that date the products will be available whilst stocks last, once depleted, the products will no longer be available to order.

Next Steps:              

• The continuing supply issue is being monitored in conjunction with the supplier and we will continue to review the stock situation to minimise further disruption and update this ICN with the latest information as it becomes available.
• However, as this is currently a disrupted market and supply is subject to rapid change, the alternatives offered may also be experiencing temporary supply issues and therefore, customers may need to consider clinically reviewing all additional alternatives provided.
