New NHS Innovation Service
The NHS Innovation Service is a new service for anyone developing innovative products or services intended for use in the NHS. The service is operated by the NHS Accelerated Access Collaborative (AAC).
Providing information and tailored support to help accelerate the uptake of the best innovations, the aim is to encourage great ideas and novel solutions that introduce new or improved ways of delivering care.
Welcoming all innovators from industry to academia, NHS staff to patients and the public, it brings together existing information and bespoke support from multiple organisations into a single central place – making it easier to get innovations to market.
The NHS Innovation Service is made up of a collective of organisations that all play a part in supporting and assessing innovations along the journey from an idea to implementation and scaling.
Organisations involved include the Academic Health Science Network, MHRA, NICE, NIHR, Life Sciences Hub Wales, Health Technology Wales, Scottish Health Technologies Group, Department for International Trade and NHS Supply Chain.
The online service for healthcare innovators aims to provide the right support for individuals and companies at all stages of their innovation journey. To support them to get their innovations, at any stage, adopted in the NHS and provide innovative solutions to NHS challenges.
