NHS Core List Of Products
We have been commissioned to develop and implement the new NHS Core List of products, as part of the NHS England Strategic framework for NHS Commercial.
Through the NHS Core List, we will leverage the NHS’s national buying power to manage the sourcing and supply of a core range of standard commodities – on behalf of all NHS providers.
This will achieve high levels of compliance, cost containment and supply resilience. Key supply markets will be managed and co-ordinated through effective NHS-wide collaboration including across key clinical networks.
See our Useful Links section for more information about the NHS England Strategic framework for NHS Commercial, and our part within it.
We will operate the NHS Core List on a set of guiding principles:
- Resilient Supply Chain – we will give you the confidence that you will have the right product at the right time.
- Competitive – the NHS Core List will deliver value to the NHS through a single leveraged route.
- High level of service – products on the list will be supported by a high service level, with minimal risk to patient care.
- Optimised Product Range – where required the NHS Core List will offer clinically appropriate products, whilst removing unnecessary variation.
- Assurance – products on the list will be supported by clinically identified alternative products, further strengthening the confidence and assurance in both availability and function.
- Credited Procurement Framework – our frameworks meet all required framework accreditation.
We will provide regular updates as we develop the new NHS Core List over the coming months.
