This framework starts on 10 August 2026, runs for 24 months and ends on 9 August 2028. There is an option to extend for up to an additional 24 months.

There are 60 suppliers, including 23 new suppliers, on the framework offering an extended product range and more choice to customers. See the Suppliers section for a full list of suppliers on this framework.

Resilience
Our increased knowledge of the global manufacturing base following COVID-19 and subsequent global supply challenges, means we are better able to identify potential risks and mitigate them by building resilience into our sourcing strategies.

For this framework we are adopting measures including a review of high-volume lines that could be brought into stock, the creation of a product switching guide and improved catalogue descriptions to easily identify product alternatives.

How to purchase from the framework

Products available via our Stocked and eDirect supply routes can be purchased using our online catalogue or through your own purchase-to-pay system.

Important notice – for stocked products only.
Following the move to Buy Price = Sell Price, new contract / framework prices will only come into effect when stock of all product at the old contract / framework price has been depleted.

The framework will support mini competitions in lot 8: service and maintenance for further savings. This will be via the direct route. To order products:

• You will need to obtain a quotation through our Category team to benefit from National Framework Agreement Pricing. Please quote the framework reference number when contacting your preferred supplier to ensure the correct pricing and compliance.
• Our Category team will then provide you with a Unique Reference Number (URN). This URN must be detailed on your purchase order to order the required equipment.
• You have two options to procure equipment via the framework. Trusts can either direct award if internal Standard Financial Instructions (SFIs) are followed or carry out a pricing exercise via the framework, which will be managed by our Category team. Both options require trusts to request URN numbers from the Category team.

Ordering samples

Product samples are available from some of the suppliers on the framework.

Please note that the decision to supply samples, along with the unit of issue, supplied quantity, time to supply and free of charge nature of any request, is solely the decision of the relevant supplier(s).

Requests for samples should initially be discussed with your NHS Supply Chain ICS Manager. They will then work with you and the respective supplier(s) to agree requests and order on your behalf.

Product switching opportunities will become available after the framework goes live. Analysis will take place to highlight cost effective alternatives and to identify switch and rationalisation opportunities. Information for Clinical Choice (ICC) will be available after go live to highlight the clinical suitability of alternative products which could deliver savings.

The framework provides opportunities to adopt a National Pricing Matrix (NPM) which allows you to benefit from a discounted pricing structure from a supplier in return for either a value or volume commitment, for an agreed period. These will be available across lots 1 to 6 when the framework goes live.

The following sustainable opportunities are available on this framework:

Remanufactured Devices
Vanguard GE has two product lines awarded to lot 2: Advanced Energy Devices that offer remanufactured ultrasonic handpieces. Using this type of product enables a more sustainable product lifecycle and allows hospitals to reduce carbon emissions whilst unlocking cost saving opportunities.

Reusable/Reposable Products

• Each lot includes a broad selection of product types to support a variety of clinical needs, including various laparoscopic instruments, accessories and trocars. Additionally, there are a range of individual component parts that can be purchased individually as replacement parts of a whole instrument/trocar.
• Multiple suppliers with reusable or reposable (a hybrid of reusable and single use components) products have been awarded to Lot 4: Minimally Invasive Surgery Instruments, Devices and Consumables, Lot 5: Trocars and Lot 7: Procedure Kits.

About the products

Lot 1: Clips and Clip Appliers
Devices used to apply clips to blood vessels or tissues for closure or marking, supplied as disposable multi-fire tools or reusable appliers with clip cartridges.

Lot 2: Advanced Energy Based Devices
Instruments that use ultrasonic or advanced bipolar energy to cut and sometimes seal tissue, automatically adjusting energy delivery to reduce damage to surrounding areas.

Lot 3: Surgical Stapling Devices
Devices that staple or staple-and-cut tissue to remove or join structures, available in powered or manual formats with cartridge systems indicating staple size and depth.

Lot 4: Minimally Invasive Surgery Instruments, Devices and Consumables
A range of tools designed for use in laparoscopic or minimally invasive procedures, including instruments like graspers, shears, and suction devices used through surgical ports.

Lot 5: Trocars
Access devices inserted through the body wall to create a passage for surgical instruments, consisting of a cannula, obturator, and seal, with various designs including single and multi-port systems.

Lot 6: Gynaecological Endoscopy and Uterine Ablation
Products used to diagnose and treat uterine and fallopian tube conditions, including devices for hysteroscopy, tissue removal and endometrial ablation procedures.

Lot 7: Minimally Invasive Surgery Procedure Kits
Pre-packaged sets of sterile components grouped for specific minimally invasive procedures, containing only the necessary items for a defined surgical task.

Lot 8: Maintenance of Minimally Invasive Surgery Instruments and Equipment
Services for the repair, replacement and upkeep of reusable minimally invasive surgical instruments and equipment after the standard warranty period.
