Wound Drainage, Autologous Blood Systems and Related Accessories
This framework starts on 1 August 2024, runs for 12 months and ends on 31 July 2025. There is an option to extend for an additional 36 months.
Areas covered
There are two Lots on this framework:
- Lot 1: Wound Drainage and Related Accessories
- Lot 2: Post Operative and Intra Operative Autologous Blood System Products and Related Accessories.
Wound Drainage systems are a common feature of post-operative surgical management and are used to remove excess fluid from a wound bed to prevent infection and the delay of wound healing.
Post-Operative Autologous Blood is the collection of blood after surgery, similar to the process used in wound drainage, but the products also filter the blood ready to be re-infused back into the patient. It is an effective alternative to donor blood and can produce significant savings to the NHS.
Intra-Operative Autologous Blood also known as autologous blood transfusion or cell salvage, is a medical procedure involving recovering blood lost during surgery and re-infusing it into the patient.
