Sir Jim Mackey, Chief Executive, Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is the Chair of the National Customer Board which oversees four regional boards, North, Midlands and East, South and London.

The National Customer Board meets quarterly following the Regional Customer Boards. The next meeting will take place on 27 September 2022.

At each meeting members discuss NHS Supply Chain performance, improvement plans, landscape changes and any issues highlighted by the regional boards.

The last meeting was held on 23 June 2022, topics of discussion included;

  • Discussion on Elective Recovery, reducing two year waits and then moving on to other challenges around increasing activity.
  • Update was given on the work of the Resilience Working Group.
  • There is a move to UKCA regulations, away from MDR, this will lead to suppliers delisting several products.
  • Discussion around the proposed changes to the Customer Board.
