Change:

• The supplier Medical Wire has informed us of a supply issue with its Transport Swab products.
• Two product codes are affected in total:
  • HHD019 – Transport Swab Gel Media Amies Charcoal
  • HHD021 – Transport Swab Gel Media Amies Charcoal.
• The supply issue is due to raw material shortage.
• HHD021 is being threshold managed as it is subject to Protect Demand Management.

Impact:

• HHD019 is suspended and unavailable to order.
• HHD021 is available to order through NHS Supply Chain. However, trusts are allocated a maximum daily quantity or “threshold” to ensure fair supply of available stock across the NHS.
• Potential indirect alternative products are available to order through our online catalogue:
  • KBZ85032 – Transport Swab Gel.
• KBZ85032 is suitable for both affected product codes.
