NHS Supply Chain currently has an opportunity for a Commercial and IT Lawyer to join our team during an exciting period of transformation, working to make it easier for the NHS to put patients first.

 

We have recently recruited a senior lawyer to lead our procurement work and we are now looking for a senior commercial lawyer ideally with experience in IT contracts to join the legal team and help shape our long-term commercial strategies.

 

The successful candidate will have knowledge and experience in commercial law to advise on the form of our various IT and other commercial contracts and an awareness of procurement in a healthcare setting.  The right candidate can expect opportunities to develop the role taking on responsibilities in relation to the other legal activities across the organisation and broadening their legal practice across employment, property, and dispute resolution where circumstances allow.

 

Every day you will … 

Advise and support the development of the legal aspects of our IT and logistics strategy.

Advise on the form of contracts and associated contract management.

Clearly outline the scope of work or services to be provided by each party.

General legal support.

Work with our external legal advisers to ensure that the NHS Supply Chain receives the most appropriate legal support.

What skills will help you thrive in this role?

At least five plus years of post-qualification experience,

Experience in procurement law, ideally within a public sector setting

A pragmatic approach to problem-solving and an ability to engage with and involve a wide range of stakeholders and seniority across the whole of the supply chain.

A willingness to manage a caseload without significant supervision and to respond to the demands of a fast-moving organisation.
